However, one morning, he discovers that his diary entry for that day has already been completed. Even stranger, the events described in the diary begin to come true. Deus, who reveals that he is a real God, warns Yukiteru that if he loses his diary, he will die. As Yukiteru starts to use the diary to his advantage, he is approached by a stalker named Yuno Gasai, who also possesses a Future Diary that predicts his death at the hands of a serial killer, another Future Diary holder. Helping him avoid the killer, Yuno assists Yukiteru in shooting an arrow into the killer's phone, killing him. After that, Deus explains the rules of the survival game to Yukiteru and the other diary holders, in which they must try to kill each other to win the right to succeed him.
